Also, here are two photographs that i became mildly obsessed with at one point. We visited London in January for our JET Interviews at the Embassy of Japan in Piccadilly. Earlier in the day, before leaving the hotel, i saw a magpie sitting in the tree outside our window and caught this pathetic attempt at a photograph of him. (one for sorrow). Later as we were walking down Piccadilly, approach the Japanese Embassy, i took a photograph of the sun shining down with the Japanese flag in the distance. Days later whilst looking through the pictures i noticed a red spot of berry or brick on the photograph of the magpie, in a similar area to that of the red circle of the Japanese flag in the sunshine picture, and i saw it as a sign of something. Silly. Oh, and as we sat drinking beer outside a pub, post-interview, a magpie landed nearby. (two for joy).
We visited Whitby a month or two ago and it was nice to be by the sea with people i love.
basic colourful take on a recent Wedding Invitation commission. lala.
Very rough ideas for layout and colour for a book cover freelance project i’m working on at the moment…
Papa Fortnum being an awesome dad, and a slapdash pricelist :) come and buy! x
A couple of old photographs from my graduate placement at Tigerprint..
one task was a label design for a new range called ‘anipals’ (which may be in Marks & Spencer’s shops in Summer) and a babygrow design for a new doll…i liked the plant pot feet but they said it was ‘too edgy’ for Markses. Aww.
An exhibition of some of my work is up at FRUIT, Humber Street, Hull. For sale: priced reasonably, between £10 - £65! I’m also available for hire for any commissions or design projects, and i’ve left some free badges on the bar so help yourself :)
Using the previous photograph as a mild reference, i am collaging with a future exhibition in mind…enjoy!
A photograph i took with my clunky old camera with regular 35mm film from a boat ride across Lake Windermere last Summer on a slightly gloomy day, the day before my Nanna passed away. I am overwhelmed by its dreaminess and can remember exactly how it felt to look out and see this view and choose to capture it forever in a photograph x
wedding invitations in progress…still lots of changes to make and things to do.
A blog write up of Little Switzerland new single release gives a little nod to the designer of the artwork, which is me. Thank you x
Here’s a few bits of merchandise that Little Switzerland have put together with the artwork i produced for them. Ace :) x
